Work

How long have you worked at Ideon?

I’ve had two stints at Ideon for a total of 3 years. My first was during the founding year of the company as an Operations Administrator. I returned again in 2020 as the Chief of Staff and have since transitioned into my current role, VP of Business Operations.

Tell us about your day-to-day at Ideon…

The best part about my job is that there isn’t a typical day. The scope of Business Operations is broad: People, IT & Information Security, Product Operations, major vendor management, and business process/systems oversight. Our work intersects with every team, which means I have the pleasure of interacting with people across our organization on a variety of initiatives. 

What attracted you to Ideon’s mission?

The opportunity to work for a company that is defining a category, transforming an industry, and solving a complex problem was compelling on its own. The people at the company made the decision to return an obvious one.

What excites you about the future of Ideon?

We’re at an inflection point in our growth right now and there’s momentum throughout the organization. We’re adding industry-leading, Fortune 500 companies like MetLife to our partner roster, we’ve tripled our team size in the past year, and there is unmistakable energy in every corner of the business.

All to say, we’re beginning to reach the flywheel-style growth phase that is a trademark of successful platform businesses. 

As an early Ideon employee, you’ve seen firsthand our transition from a small startup to an industry leader with 100+ team members. Tell us about that experience…

One of the most exciting developments as we grow is seeing the opportunities that open up for our team. In the past year, we’ve seen a number of cross-team role changes and the elevation of leaders from within. I, too, have been given the opportunity to work on an expanded scope of work and develop new skill sets only possible because of our rapid scaling and supportive leadership.

Life

Favorite activity when you’re not working? 

Mark this as the moment I was outed as a total nerd. With my usual hobbies stunted by pandemic closures, I’ve developed an affinity for pickling and birding over the past 2 years.

Favorite place you’ve traveled?

I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite but I spent this past New Years on Ambergris Caye, a tiny island off of Belize, and absolutely loved it. 

Interesting fact about yourself… Go!

I worked at Greenpeace HQ in Amsterdam for a year after college and got to do a few overnights leading watch on the Rainbow Warrior III (one of the Greenpeace ships.) Turns out I’m not equipped for life at sea but the experience was well worth it.
